Gramacho Golf Course
Famous champion Nick Price, once the world's number one, joined golf architect Ronald Fream to create this unique 18-hole golf course with 27 diverse and challenging greens. In 2005, Gramacho hosted the Portugal Ladies Open. The greens and hazards are strategically placed so the game is genuine, truly putting the player's skills to the test. Similar to the Vale da Pinta course, the standard of maintenance is extremely high and to European Tour requirements.
Vale da Pinta Golf Course
Vale da Pinta is considered one of the best golf courses in Europe. Inaugurated in 1992 and designed by Ronald Fream, its Championship Course status was gained after hosting six prestigious Europe Senior Tour events. Golfers of all levels will be faced with a major challenge. The fairways are bermuda grass and while the hazards are strategically protecting the greens and surrounding areas in Pen Cross Bent, the lakes influence play at four different holes in this 18-hole course.
With its 5615 metres, par 70 features an excellent collection of par 3 holes and an extraordinary par 5. The formidable opening hole requires skill. A drive will have to consider the two lateral lakes. As for the sophisticated greens, the large 13 is protected by palmtrees that are harmoniously integrated into the surrounding landscape right by an intimidating lake. An heroic shot will be compensated by a fairly easy approach. The design of the course emphasises the natural beauty of the area. Golfers can enjoy stunning views to the Monchique hills and to the valleys of Vila Fria. Silves Golf presents a fair challenge, with a good enough margin for those less accurate shots while also providing a challenging game.
